starts with three classic Liberty of London prints with beautiful timeless feel; Capel, Eva Belle and Meadow Song. We love them worn wildly mixed just like true wildflowers…Read more about the history of these particular prints below.
We launch with two bases, a cotton loopback jersey in a heavier weight of 325gsm, lending itself beautifully to jumpers and joggers and carrying the vibrancy of the prints to a stunning depth. Our second base is a lightweight GOTS certified organic cotton in 140gsm weight which allows the jersey to drape beautifully and feel like you’re barely wearing it at all.
The unisex fit has been carefully considered; t-shirts being intentionally generous with drop shoulders and the joggers our favourite cut, not too lose and not too skinny, but just in that place between with the perfect amount of roll up if so wished.
Kids clothing is wide and baggy rather than tight and fitted - referencing Japanese silhouettes which we love.
Our print selection; although timeless and iconic; changes alongside seasons. So whilst you can wear Parlance endlessly we are a very small brand and can only make a limited quantity. We cannot wait for our little meadow to grow!
We hope you have truly wonderful moments out there with Parlance! Do remember to tag us at @p_arlance
Our launch…
Eva Belle was inspired by a design from the Liberty Archives, originally created between the 1910s and 1930s in Jacobean needlework style consisting of stylised flowers, vines, plants and animals. As one of the UKs most important trade partners at the time, The Tree of Life arrangement was influenced by Indian textiles.
Meadow Song was inspired by a hand-painted design found within the Liberty Archives. The beautiful re-drawn botanical design pays homage to Liberty’s long-standing love affair with wildflowers including poppies and daisies within their prints.
Capel was inspired by a style of Liberty florals designs from the 1930s. The small, loosely-drawn all-over repeat design was first printed by Liberty Fabrics in 1978 and joined the Liberty Fabrics’ Classics collection in 1993.
